NXT Stand and Deliver is here to kick off WrestleMania weekend and what a show it was! Let's look a the matches, winners, my grade and my thoughts of each match! NXT did exactly what I wanted and hoped for, it DELIVERED!
Kickoff show:
Joe Gacy vs Shawn Spears
Winner- Joe Gacy
Grade- B
Thoughts- These two men are some crazy dudes. The returning Spears may have had his hands full with the crazy Gacy.
Main show:
NXT Tag Team Championship Match. The War Dogs (C) (Barron Corbin and Bron Breaker) vs Axiom and Nathan Frazer.
Winner- The War Dogs
Grade- B+
Thoughts- The War Dogs are so good when it comes to straight up brawling. Corbin the vet with the ring awareness and Breakker with then muscle and power. Great match.
NXT North American Championship Match. Oba Femi (C) vs. Dijak vs. Josh Briggs
Winner- Oba Femi
Grade- A-
Thoughts- WOW. All three of these men put on an amazing performance! Huge spots, multiple near counts and moments where I went speechless!
Jacy Jayne, Kiana James vs. Thea Hail, Fallon Henley, Kelani Jordan.
Winner- Hail, Henley and Jordan
Grade- B+
Thoughts- This match was all over the place. I am a huge fan of Hail so for her getting the victory via submission was awesome.
NXT Women’s Championship Match. Lyra Valkyria (C) vs. Roxanne Perez
Winner- Roxanne Perez (New NXT Women's Champion)
Grade- B
Thoughts- Probably one of my favorite Women superstars, Roxanne put on a great performance and so did Lyra. Both of these women were outstanding! And your new NXT Women’s Champion, Roxanne Perez!
NXT Championship Match. Ilja Dragunov (C) vs. Tony D’Angelo
Winner- Ilja Dragunov
Grade- A-
Thoughts- What. A. Fight! And that’s exactly how it was. Both superstars put it all on the line. Dragunov is incredibly talented and seems like he cannot lose.
Carmelo Hayes vs. Trick Williams
Winner- Trick Williams
Grade- A
Thoughts- This had the most build of any match and it definitely payed off. Trick finally overcame his ex brother and got an HUGE pin fall! Now Melo can go to the main roster and start a new chapter.
Overall, NXT Stand and Deliver was an incredible show and really kicked off WrestleMania weekend with a bang! Each match was hard hitting and showed emotion! We have a new NXT Women's Champion and some new storylines to be fleshed out but more importantly, a new chapter in NXT is about to arrive!
I'd give NXT Stand and Deliver 4.5/5 Beyond The Batcave Stars!
